Jason Arday was a British academic who tragically took his own life after he was exposed as a plagiarist and fabulist who'd conned his way into a top professorship at Cambridge University. He faked hate crimes, claiming a maniac with a knife threatened him twice: "The intruder was not picked up by CCTV on either occasion and no one in the faculty reported seeing anyone suspicious. Arday did not report either intrusion at the time..."
